Tip down carry
What features do you look for in a pocket knife? Benchmade knives have the features that I prefer in a folder, here they are and why: I prefer tip down, which refers to the direction of the tip of the blade is pointing when open. When you grab your knife out of your pocket your hand is already on the handle ready to open the blade. Tip up, you have to rotate or flip the knife to open. Next thumb stud versus thumb hole or thumb groove etc. The stub is easy to open with and without gloves and most are ambidextrous. The axis lock system opens and closes easily one handed and keeps your fingers out of the way of the blade when closing. Lock back and frame locks are fine systems too, just different prefences. Size, weight, thickness, handle material and blade steel are also considerations when choosing a knife.

Every Day Dump
This is what I carry in my pockets on a daily basis thus EDC Every Day Carry.
Of course every day it changes but here is what we got today.
Hatchet
Sometimes you just need a Hatchet.
This little badass pocket hatchet is from Iron Hammer, based out of Colorado.
I always have it in my truck.
